New Minimalism through the prism of color

In the era of new minimalism, for Spring 2011, bold colors are replacing the traditional reliance on grey-white-or black to create fashion that is particularly engaging and simply divine.
Coco Chanel once quoted that fashion should represented not only the way we live, but also what is happening around us and minimalism at it core personifies this concept by offering clothes that transcends seasons in a effortless manner. Take for example the spring 2011 collections by designers such as Celine, Jil Sander, MaxMara. Clean lines and simple silhouettes are evident in the ensembles strutting down their runways as these designers edged seamlessly into new minimalism with the use of bold colors to create outfits that speaks to the confidence and sensuality that all women possess. Whether is unexpected color combinations such as blue and burgundy (Celine 2011) or the use of monochromatic colors (Jil Sander, 2011 in cobalt blue or MaxMara, 2011 in orange) that portray the power of simplicity, the uniquely modern interpretation of minimalism incorporated in the outfits shown is this post are neither ostentatious nor overdone, but simply divine.
